"Portrait of the artist in fuckin’ readers with an adorable puppy." Adorable and adorable. I do sympathize about the readers, but I've also had glasses -- thick-ass glasses -- since kindergarten, so I also feel, "Whatevs."
Also, despite the fact that I am dutifully wearing my own glasses, I misread the subject line as "Becoming Unlikeable." I would be just as interested in reading that, fwiw.
You've probably already encountered them but I have fallen completely in love with my progressive readers by Peepers. My frustration with taking my readers on and off all day was solved because the top had no magnification, and then there was steadily more towards the bottom. So, I could just wear them all day! And they have progressive reader SUNGLASSES. I just got my first pair recently and am dying for sunshine not just because it's grey and depressing here, but because I'll get to wear my new sunglasses.
I actually bought the Caddis progressives and couldn't get used to them! Maybe I should have gone the Peepers route. In the meantime, I have ordered a prescription pair of progressives because I am also near sighted (I usually wear contacts). ARGH. I do like the idea of the progressive sunglasses. We'll see how this next experiment goes.
I chose the Peepers because they're cheaper, for sure, but I also just like their style. It took a few days for me to adjust, but now I can't really live without them. The Caddis ones were expensive, also single colors and I like a tortoise shell in blues and browns.
Ha! I just swung by to chime in that I had finally broken down a year or two ago and ordered a pair of Warby Parker progressives for wandering about in the not-so-sunny world, or for talking to people at bars and shops and parties and so on while still being stylish in glasses, but able to read a memo or note in a pinch. 🙂
ok not the point, but those glasses really suit you
ha! thanks. here in my readers era, i am accepting of compliments in any context 🤓

Ha! I have too, Russell! Well, since second grade. And then I got contacts in fifth. I guess I just really did not want *more* glasses.
Haha! Ok, totally fair point!
The glasses look great on you! One of us! One of us!
😂😭
I’m here wading into my mid40s feeling every word of this post. I’m trying to fall in love with my sexy Crone Era!
Girl, it's time. 🧙🏻♀️
Fab glasses!

Ha! I think I need a few more years before fully embracing my unlikeability. But I’ll get there, I just know it.

Yeah the Caddis ones were a mistake. I was sucked in by the expensive marketing for sure.

Oh wow, Warby Parker has progressives. Had not considered!! Thanks for the tip, Ron. One must really be able to read it turns out 🥳
