Love this Sara. I also wanted to say that while “spinster” has its bad connotations, it actually originally described women who were able to support themselves financially —through their spinning and fiber work. It’s probably why it became a pejorative — so threatening to the establishment! So—another way of looking at it is that spinsters are, and always have been, independent women, doing things their own way. :)
Cant take credit, I dont know if that line was in the original books but I swiped it from
the wonderfully wholesome, inclusive Anne of Green Gables series (Netflix) which I highly recommend! It's Canadian 😍. Talk about teaching young women that its okay to aspire to be independent, Anne is a roll model for our age
You mentioned The Work and it brought back a memory from a little over a year ago. I was reading it and did the exercises. I wrote a bunch of things down quickly and one was about my wife. I don't remember what I wrote about her exactly and I didn't even feel all that strongly about it, so I threw it out. Well, the next morning she took out the trash and saw it! 🤦♂️ To her credit, she brought it up later that day and we were able to talk through it. My heart sunk when she told me she saw it. I felt so bad!
so many thoughts-i celebrate the way you live and i hope you can convey that to all your young nieces especially - geez and the word spinster is a teally bad word. single lady yes! a woman who has had a number of important relationships but is not in one at this second and as far as having kids would your nieces want to have them or would they rather be like their aunt ? me i admire their aunt! yippee for you and for this newsletter. glad you are back! i just saw this article about plague in colorado—how crazy is that?

Yes!! You are so right. I love it.
I get that - are you married?- question a lot too and I like to answer that I'm the bride of adventure.
I love that!

Aww now I really love it! I read all the books once when I was a kid, and once about 15 years ago. Sounds like I'm due for another pass!

"As far as having kids would your nieces want to have them or would they rather be like their aunt?" Ha! A question for the next vacation. xoxoxoxo
Love this Sara! We had very similar experiences this week! ✨❤️
Thank you, Jen! xo
